"What's for Dinner Honey?"

We were in the Fruit Center yesterday gearing up for inclement weather.  It must be a throwback to our pioneering roots that we stock up when dire weather is predicted.  It's fascinating to see what people are buying when they think they may be housebound for a day.

We'd get it if the carriages were filled with essentials: coffee, water, bread, candles....  But people were buying some random stormwatch foodstuffs: chestnuts and arborio rice?  A cart filled with potato chips and Tate's chocolate chip cookies?  {come to think of it, that's what we'd want if stranded for a day}

But we digress.  again.

We want to make a soup or a stew for Wednesday, so here are a few delicious, hearty, heartwarming choices for the {are you listening Dot Gallo?} snowday we've got a comin'...

Signe's Boeuf Borguignon: {that's Beef Burgundy without the accent}

Robert's Pumpkin Soup: Redhead Betty would bathe in it if it were legal.

Darcy's Chicken Tortilla Soup: It calls for tortilla chip garnish. we rest our case.

Pauls' Chorizo Soup: We just like saying chorizo. chorizo.

Robin's Ribollita: Ribollita- sounds like a frog noise. it's a Tuscan soup/stew. trust us.

Bob's Beef Stew with Apples and Beer:  with beer.  nuff said.

The Duchesse's Borscht: She could say it in Russian. but we don't want to boast.

So make one, then kick back and watch Dr. Drew: Celebrity Rehab.  It's what a snowday was made for.
