BRUNCH: IT'S WHAT'S MISSING

I know what my life is missing….Sunday brunch.

I left it behind when kids and responsibility came along.  Now I try to stuff as much into Sunday as I can, jamming activities in it like an overstuffed suitcase, sitting on it, cranking the latches down before it explodes into the week.

I miss it.  Not a Mother's Day brunch,  or brunch with friends…No I miss the kind of brunch that says "Baby, we just got up and it's 11:30."  I miss the complete lack of responsibility that it signals.

You too?  Well then, let's reclaim brunch, only-halfway-responsible style.  Dial up a great sitter on the Betty Board, {they can take the kids to a matinee}  get back into your jammies and cook up a new take on classic Eggs Benedict recipe here>.

Don't feel like cooking?  Here's a list of 5 favorite brunch spots in Boston {just in case you're spunky enough to haul it into town on what should be a lazy Sunday}.

Highland Kitchen 150 Highland Avenue, Somerville
Craigie on Main 853 Main Street, Central Square Cambridge
Centre Street Café 669 Centre Street #A, Jamaica Plain
Metropolis Café 584 Tremont Street, South End
The Paramount 44 Charles Street, Beacon Hill
and Sel de La Terre 774 Boylston Street, Boston- Nina says the Bloody Mary's are a must-have.  She says go hungry and try the planked salmon, the quiche is perfectly custardy and delicious, and you'll need several orders of the crispy doughnuts with vanilla cream....
