The Interior Designer's Little Black Book

How is it that designer's pull it off?  Their style and unerring taste- is it genetics? training? clean living?

Well yes, a little of the above.

But great resources are a big help.  These favorite merchants will help us mere mortals make better choices

We spend forever in our kitchens- yes, cooking, but helping with homework, wrapping presents, packing lunches, dyeing Easter eggs & carving pumpkins, launching craft projects and oh, and did we mention having a glass of wine with friends?

Having a space that functions and truly reflects your style makes perfect sense.  So when it's time to build or remodel your "do-everything" room, Artisan Kitchen Design is the natural choice.  It starts with a great team that will help you with form and flow, making sure your kitchen functions perfectly.  Then, add their expertise in design and materials so that you'll get the room that reflects your style.  Finally their expert installers and experienced craftsmen make the whole concept a reality.

Ahhh, now sit back and enjoy that glass of wine with friends in your whole new space….

We love our hardwood floors, but there is nothing like the feel of carpet under our tootsies.  Rugs anchor a room, soften sound and set the style for the space- so choosing one is important.  The Rug Merchant is the source for beautiful and unique carpets and rugs from all over in the world.

Wall to wall carpeting, designer area rugs, and custom carpets, custom bound area rugs, and stair runners-  although the selection is broad {they cater to designers and commercial builders as well as to us mere mortals}  they're incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.  They'll make the somewhat daunting task of selecting your heaven underfoot a breeze.

When Yale says its the largest appliance, lighting and plumbing dealer in New England they mean it. And despite the size of the state of the art operation, they still keep customer service as a key point to their success.

A kitchen renovation can send any Betty over the edge: granite or soapstone? cherry or birch? green or red? at least we can knock out the appliances all in once place.  Their brands include  Amana to Viking and everything in between.  Hey, we could even revamp the laundry room as well.  The selection is endless, but as we said, their staff helps you check everything off your list with ease.

Oh, and did we mention lighting...... bring a snack because you just might spend hours in THAT showroom.

Passing on the love for ShelfGenie is easy- we're not sure what we'd do in our kitchen if we didn't have glide-out drawers in the cabinets.  Certainly half of what is in there gets lost at the back, and we hate standing on our head to find it.

ShelfGenie fits glide-out drawers to any cupboard you can envision...a glide-out trashcan under the sink {love it} glide-out  drawers in your media cabinet {a total time saver} how about a ShelfGenie glide-out to corral mitts, hats, helmets and other sports paraphenalia in the mudroom {score!}  The possibilites are endless- as is the joy you'll feel when you can locate what you need, when you need it.

Betty Tip: Browse the site for ideas- but call Elizabeth Hacking directly- she is your local contact.  She'll help you customize to your specs, and expedite the process with her expertise and attention to detail.
