The Hingham Farmers Market

By: Signe McCullough

If you are craving an authentic connection to the food you put on your table, find a basket and make your way down to the Hingham Farmer’s Market on Saturdays. The open-air commerce is enticing. It is a place for everyone, where the culture, and flavors of the region are colorfully revealed. It is a place to find fresh produce, meet with the growers and share cooking and gardening tips. A showcase of seasonal local harvests, the market offers baked goods, cut flowers, fresh eggs, live lobsters, farm raised natural beef, jams, jellies, plants and shrubs, granola, seafood from local boats, sauces, pasta, tea, gourmet coffees, herbs, crafts, local honey, smoked fish and much more. Plan a Farmer’s Market dinner, go for a chat or a stroll, go for the savory spring peas, early summer strawberries or freshly caught fish from nearby waters….{all in the name of the art of good living!}

The Hingham Farmers Market is open every Saturday at the Hingham Bathing Beach on Route 3A. Go here for dates and times:  www.hinghamfarmersmarket.org

Betty Tip: the early bird gets the worm {or the best burrata, you choose.}
