Touch a Truck Firetruck

HINGHAM TOUCH A TRUCK
by Megan Murray

Five and half years ago, my daughter was born, then a second daughter.  Life was pink and sparkly.  I had seen plenty of publicity for Touch a Truck events but never gave them much thought and then came the hurricane… my son..

When he turned 15 months, and all I heard was, truck! truck! truck! truck! It just so happened that my daughters were starting at Hingham Nursery School, and I found flyers in their bags for the Annual-HNS-Touch-a-Truck event.  Hello, a family event aimed to please the little man of the house that the girls would love too?… Score!

Down to the Hingham Bathing Beach we headed that crisp Saturday morning; having recently moved back to the area, we did not take the scenery or hospitality for granted. From the Hornstra Truck giving out milk to the beautiful scenery it was perfect all around.  I highly recommend going it doesn’t disappoint!

Make a morning out of Touch-a-Truck. Get to the Hingham Bathing Beach on Route 3A anytime between 10 and 1.  More than a dozen different types of trucks and equipment are available for the kiddos to enjoy – get ready to honk, climb, and explore! Plus, speaking from experience, those boats floating in the ocean are an added kid-pleaser!
