Antiques on Nine
81 Western Ave [Route 9] Kennebunk
This is a bit off the route to Portland, and I haven’t been in years- but have it on great authority that they are again a great resource.

Antiques USA
1669 Portland Road [Route 1] Arundel/Kennebunk
Despite the cheesy name- a HUGE place with a mixture of just about everything. Lots of gems in the back to be found if you are up for the hunt.

At this point, I jump on to Route 95 and head up to the Portland waterfront to a few of my favorite shops-

Folly 101
101 Exchange Street Portland
Owned by Astrid Vigeland who used to work at Design Research {for those who remember when Harvard Square was worth the trip}. Astrid is a designer and photo art director with a great eye- her shop is always a treat- a mix of old and new objects for the home.

Blanche & Mimi
184 Middle Street Portland
A great selection of antique and new items for the home- as well as some really sweet baby and kids items.

If there is time, just wander around the Portland waterfront- too many great shops and restaurants to mention. Okay, just a few more- Fore Street restaurant, Hugos restaurant, Decorum for beautiful bathroom fixtures.

Then stay and have dinner- or head down to Portsmouth NH for more huntin.
