Who:
Local Betty is handcrafted by Susan Boyd and Anne Lyon, with a lot of help from witty and wise Hinghamites who contribute to the site daily.
Susan is a true Northeasterner. She grew up in Bronxville, NY went to St. Lawrence University and married her childhood sweetheart (we know, so retro!) She was a third generation realtor until Local Betty came along. She knows the drill- or who to ask. Her black book is jammed with people, places, and things to do.
Anne recently moved to Hingham from Seattle and immediately realized that she needed a Betty- badly. Before Betty she worked in the fashion industry as a stylist, a clothing designer, creative director, and brand manager. She fast-talked Susan, David, and Todd into putting on this show.
David Ekizian- Although he's not technically a Betty, we have to give a shout out to DE. Betty would not be what it is without the wit and prodigious creativity of the talented Mr. Ekizian: graphic designer, brand developer, interiors consultant and without doubt, one of the funniest people we know.
What:
Betty is committed to delivering information that will help you through your week [who are we kidding, the next 24 hours]. To that end, we solicit advertising from sources that are relevant. Go ahead, advertise with us. We are very careful to distinguish between paid advertising [website ads and get it, got it, good!] and editorial content. If we mention a business or product in our Daily Post, you should know that we didn't get paid for it- we truly think it will help make your life easier. Or more inspired. Or more fun. Or whiten your teeth.
Why:
Local Betty comes from our love of the community, desire to live more locally, and commitment to share information that helps us all navigate the little stuff with a bit more inspiration. Because when you think about it, life is made up of the little stuff. Finding the humor, embracing the exasperation, and recognizing the grace in every day is what makes it sweet.
